LIS ACADEMY TECH VC CONCLAVES

In the pursuit of self-reliance, technical education stands as a cornerstone for fostering innovation, competence, and autonomy. The transformation in technical education aligns seamlessly with the broader goal of achieving self-sufficiency through research and innovation. One of the most notable shifts in technical education is the emphasis on integrating research and practical application into the curriculum. Today, students of technical education are encouraged to engage in hands-on projects, collaborate with industry partners, and conduct research that addresses real-world challenges. Increased collaboration between industry, academia, and research institutions plays a pivotal role in driving innovation and imbibing research culture among young minds. This partnership brings together diverse expertise, resources, and perspectives, creating a fertile ground for knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and impactful research among all stake holders. Technical institutions need to embrace collaborative approach to equip students with skillsets to meet global requirements.

 

The transformations in technical education which is need of the day and requires significant push towards interdisciplinary education within technical fields. Inculcating research skills in engineering education plays a pivotal role in driving innovation, solving complex challenges, IP creation and advancing knowledge for the betterment of the society. The transformation in technical education is intrinsically linked to the broader goal of achieving self-reliance through research and innovation. By embracing experiential learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, lifelong learning, and a commitment to ethics and sustainability, technical education institutions are empowering students to become not just job seekers but creators, innovators, and leaders to achieve self-reliance through research and make India as Atmanirbhara Bharat.

 

 Tech VC Conclave:

To address above challenges LIS Academy in association with partnering state technical universities conceptualised and initiated for organising Technical universities Vice Chancellors conclaves since 2018. These biannual conclaves are aimed to address the contemporary issues and challenges of technical education in India by bringing in experts from academia, industry, R&D organizations and statutory bodies to a common platform to discuss and deliberate.   The conclave also facilitates the participating universities to showcase their best practices and success stories which can be immolated by others. Since 2018, following three Tech VC conclaves have been organised success fully:

First Tech VC Conclave (23-24 November 2018):

LIS Academy in collaboration with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), successfully organised First Tech. VC’s Conclave with a conclave theme: Collaborate Innovate Educate in 23-24 November 2018 in collaboration with AICTE and Springer Nature at Bangalore. Vice Chancellors from various Technical Universities participated and shared their success stories in the conclave. The plenary talks and panels discussed and deliberated several issues related to technical education and possible solutions to address the anticipated challenges.

Second Tech VC Conclave  (13-14 February 2020):

To take the Tech. VC Conclave series to further heights, LIS Academy, Bangalore in collaboration with JNTU Ananthapuram organised the second Tech VC Conclave with a theme “Reinventing Excellence in Technical Education” in JNTU Ananthapuram. Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) were joint organising partners.

Third Tech VC Conclave (15-16 September 2022):

The 3rd Tech VC conclave was organized by Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, in collaboration with LIS Academy, Bangalore,  AICTE, New Delhi and Government of Karnataka, on the theme “NEP-2020: A New Normal in Technical
